JULY 2017
1-1 Conway Riverfest -Join us Saturday, July 1st, from 11 AM-10 PM for the 2017 Conway Riverfest. Enjoy a variety of artisan and food vendors, local entertainment, and a golf cart parade. The Kidz Zone, just for the kids, offers pony rides, jello jump, games and more. The night will end with a Fireworks Extravaganza at 9:30 PM. We have live entertainment from 3PM - 9:30PM including: The McGuire Band, Snake Malone & The Black Cat Bone & Marc Broussard.

3-3 Micheal Franti & Spearhead -Musical pioneer Michael Franti and his band Spearhead will stop by the House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach for their Love Out Loud tour to spread the love. His high energy shows have made Franti and Spearhead a must-see performance, along with his multi-platinum song “Say Hey (I Love You)” and chart-breaking release of The Sound of Sunshine in 2010. Stop by the House of Blues Restaurant & Bar for Happy Hour specials and call ahead to learn about any “Pass the Line” opportunities. After the show, go to The Deck to get a drink or The Smokehouse for Smokehouse Nachos, Chicken Caeser Wraps and more. 4-4 Croissants' 6th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest -This Independence Day delight your sweet tooth at Croissants Bistro & Bakery during their 6th Annual Cupcake Eating Contest. Croissants promises that all participants, 18 years and older, will “have their cake and eat it too” during this cupcake eating marathon. Contestants have five minutes to eat as many cupcakes as they can. The winner of the marathon will be crowned “Cupcake Champion” of Myrtle Beach. Other prize packages for successful contestants include $500 cash and tickets to Myrtle Beach area attractions, restaurants and retail stores, including an oceanfront vacation package! 4-4 Fireworks at Broadway at the Beach -Whether you’re visiting Myrtle Beach or you’re a local, the fireworks shows at Broadway at the Beach are quite a sight to see. Watch the amazing displays light up the sky over Lake Broadway.

4-4 Murrells Inlet Annual Boat Parade -Decorate your boat and head on South to the 34rd annual Boat Parade in Murrells Inlet. This year’s parade will take place Tuesday, July 4 from 4-6 p.m.. The parade winds from Garden City Point through the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk all the way down to Hot Fish Club. Compete for the best-decorated boat or watch from the shore and cheer on your favorites. Pre-registration is available for boats for $5 and is available through July 1 at Garden City Realty, Booty’s Outdoors, and Marlin Quay Marina or one hour before the start of the parade at the committee boat.

4-4 Murrells Inlet July 4th Firework Show -Celebrate Independence Day and your Palmetto Pride with family and friends on the MarshWalk. After enjoying the Annual Boat Parade, join us on Tuesday night for the Annual Fireworks on the MarshWalk, the Grand Strand’s largest aerial fireworks show. Starting at 10pm, the sky will fill with colors of red, white, blue and beyond for an incredible, awe-inspiring 20 minute fireworks show. Be sure to get their early though! Snag yourself a good parking spot, sit down for a relaxing meal, and then sip on some cocktails while enjoying live music ‘til the show begins! Can’t wait to see everyone there!

4-4 Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration -Bring your family down to the pier in Surfside Beach for a Fourth of July Celebration. A FREE variety show starring Celebration Music Theatre’s cast and stars and inflatable rides for the kids will be held at the event. Bring a beach chair to catch the fireworks extravaganza at dark.

5-5 Gullah Program at Brookgreen Gardens -Ron Daise, former host of the ’90s TV show “Gullah, Gullah Island” and Brookgreen Garden’s vice president for creative education, presents a program about the Gullah Geechee people. Daise entertains audiences with his creative energy as a singer/songwriter and performer and his vast knowledge of the Gullah Geechee people. Visitors will learn all about the culture, history, food and language of the Gullah Geechee people, descendants of slaves who lived in the South Carolina Lowcountry.

14-14 Josh Turner -The Alabama Theatre invites you to see double-platinum-selling singer/songwriter and South Carolina native Josh Turner. The Grammy award nominated country music star returns to Myrtle Beach where he got his start performing as a teenager. 17-17 1964 Beatles Tribute -Visit the Alabama Theatre to experience what Rolling Stone Magazine hails as the “Best Beatles Tribute on Earth.” The Beatles tribute band, “1964”…The Tribute, gives fans the opportunity to witness a musical experience like no other, taking concert-goers on a musical journey to the early 1960s. “1964” performs pre-Sgt. Pepper era hits, creating an authentic Beatles musical experience, hairstyles and all. Ticket prices start at $29.95.

19-22 National Father & Son Team Classic -The three-day Father & Son Team Classic tournament is a 54-hold competition with more than 900 players from around the world. Tournament registration is held at the PGA TOUR Superstore locations in Myrtle Beach. In addition to rounds of golf, teams compete in skills challenges and driving, putting, chipping and closest to the pin contests. Host courses include King's North at Myrtle Beach National, Thistle Golf Club, Rivers Edge, Grande Dunes Resort Club, and Prestwick. The tournament plays host to three championship divisions that include National (59 and under); Senior (60+) and Super Senior (70). Juniors (12 and under) will play the senior tees.

23-23 Etta May -If you enjoy a good laugh, then look no further! On Sunday, July 23, comedian Etta May will stop by the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach for an evening of laughs. Etta May, who has won the American Comedy Awards Stand-Up Comic of the Year, has appeared on MTV, Oprah, CBS Sunday Morning and Comic Strip. 29-29 Decades Rewind -If you long for the days of 80’s pop or 70’s funk, then Decades Rewind at the Alabama Theatre is your chance to relive some of the most important musical decades. More than 60 songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are blended into distinct medleys, creating a musical experience like no other! 29-29 Seether – Poison the Parish World Tour -Post-grunge mavens Seether will visit the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach for a concert that will leave your head banging! Get their early to grab Happy Hour specials offered by the House of Blues Restaurant & Bar. After the head banging, visit The Deck for a drink or The Smokehouse for a delicious meal.

3-5 Myrtle Beach Nationals -Come to the Myrtle Beach Nationals August 3rd, 4th and 5th at Myrtle Beach Speedway! This Car and Truck show will showcase all types of vehicles in a unique and entertaining environment. Entertainment will include Pin-up models and photographers who will also be eligible for awards, vendors, food, music and more!

12-12 Martina McBride -Fifteen-time music award-winner Martina McBride visits the Alabama Theatre for an evening of hit country performances. The 14-time Grammy award nominated country singer has also sold over 18 million albums, while also landing six number-one hit singles throughout her career. 19-19 Stars of Nashville -Stars of Nashville, featuring CMT’s “Nashville” co-stars Clare Bowen and Charles Esten, provides concert-goers an evening of stellar country music. The duo, who are both regular performers at the legendary Grand Ole Opry, will perform hit songs from the popular drama series, as well as covers of popular country songs. The series’ debut album, “The Music of Nashville: Season 1, Volume 1” skyrocketed to number-one on iTunes’ Country Album category upon its release. 26-26 The Ricky Mokel Comedy Show -Ready for a laugh? Ricky Mokel, the comedian featured in Alabama Theatre’s famed ONE The Show, brings his hilarious act from ONE to an award-winning solo performance for all ages. Mokel, portrayed by Grant Turner, is known as the “lovable, gifted idiot” by fans alike and creates a performance that’s never the same as his last. Be sure to grab your tickets for comedy gold! 1-2 Beach Boogie & BBQ Festival -The Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival is an Official BBQ Championship of South Carolina sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) with over $8,600 in cash and prizes up for grabs by 25+ BBQ teams competing for points and lots of bragging rights! The festival will once again be a host event for the '250KCBS' Meals Mission, where we will be donating around 30 cooked pork butts to a local food kitchen.

1-3 Coastal Uncorked food and wine festival -The Seventh Annual Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine and Spirits Festival returns for a delightful culinary adventure over Labor Day Weekend, Friday, September 1 through Sunday, September 3, 2017. The festival events will be in the parking lot behind Pavilion Park Central, near the Welcome Center on the 21st Avenue side of Broadway at the Beach.

4-8 Myrtle Beach Mustang Week -Mustang Week, a celebration of Ford’s most famous sports car, has grown into a gathering of hundreds of owners and enthusiasts who visit the area each year for one of the biggest car show events in Myrtle Beach. The 2017 Mustang Week event will take place September 4-10, with a variety of events taking place all over the area including at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, Myrtle Beach Speedway, the Myrtle Beach Mall, Ocean Boulevard and more. The lineup of activities for each annual gathering includes meet and greets, cruise-ins, car shows, awards ceremonies, drag nights and more.

17-17 Travis Tritt -For one night only, country music star and Grammy Award winner Travis Tritt will perform at The Carolina Opry in Myrtle Beach on Sept. 17. The two-time Grammy Award winner has been dubbed one of “The Class of ’89,” along with Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson; all of whom dominated the charts in the early ’90s. 22-24 The 42nd Annual Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival -The 42nd Annual Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22-24, 2017 at Huntington Beach State Park near Murrells Inlet. Featuring more than 100 of the finest artisans, the Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival provides aesthetic beauty against a background of natural beauty. Enjoy fine art, quality crafts and food, along with the musical offerings of several of the area’s finest musicians.

23-23 Temptations & Four Tops -Take a trip back to the hey-day of Motown music for an amazing evening with The Temptations and Four Tops at the Alabama Theatre. The Temptations–including original member Otis Williams–and Four Tops–including original member Duke Fakir–take concert-goers on a musical experience through over 40 years of Motown classics. 28-28 2017 St. John’s Greek Festival -The annual St. John’s Greek Festival, a celebration of Greek culture, cuisine and family fun, is one of the most beloved Myrtle Beach events of the fall. This year’s 25th annual event will take place Thursday, Sept. 28 through Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017. Get your fill of spanikopita, gyros, baklava, cookies, salads, pastries, breads and more as St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church hosts this tasty annual event. The event is fun for the whole family and offers inflatables, live performances and music, craft and vendor tables and tours of the beautiful church.

30-30 Irish Italian Festival -Join North Myrtle Beach for the 13th annual Irish Italian Festival. The fun kicks off with a family-friendly festival brings in live music on two different stages along Main Street plus dozens of food vendors, arts and crafts tents and a spaghetti eating competition. They’ll also offer a children’s area with inflatables, magicians and balloon art. Stop by Flynn’s Paddy Wagon for an Irish pint before exploring the vendors’ tents.

6-7 Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival -The Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival will be held October 6 and 7, 2017 on Ocean Boulevard! This is only the second year for the event which will feature great seafood vendors serving up unique dishes. Kid-friendly activities, a beer and wine garden and a corn hole tournament are also planned along with live music. Stay tuned for more details on this great new festival in Myrtle Beach!

7-7 The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra -Considered by many as one of the greatest bands of all time, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is headed to the Alabama Theatre. You won’t want to miss this classic big band and jazz performance by one of the most revered big bands to ever play.
